Thank you to the many of you who responded to my email in April 2020, where I was asking for your thoughts on what to do about BAT 2020 in the climate of COVID 19. It’s obvious most of us feel that having the event in November this year as planned was not really an option. Many of us feel that even if restrictions have been lifted by then, we won’t be comfortable having lots of people in our studios. Visitors may also feel uncomfortable about large groups in November too.

The next option was to have BAT in March or April next rear. Whilst this would be nice, it would mean two BAT events in 2021. That is definitely too much work for our small team, plus there is no guarantee we’d be able to fund two events in the same year.

After wide consultation and consideration by the BHAC Committee, we have made the very reluctant decision to cancel BAT 2020 and work towards having BAT 2021 in all it’s glory and with full confidence over the Melbourne Cup long weekend as usual.

Whilst we at BHAC HQ are disappointed not to be having our very successful BAT this year, we are working on some other events to run in November and in early 2021. We’ve got some exciting plans under development that you will all be able to get involved in if you’d like. We still want to celebrate the amazing artistic talent we have here on the Bellarine, so keep an eye out for news in the next month or so. In the meantime if any of you have ideas you’d like share with us, please get in touch via email or through our FaceBook page.

Keep on creating!
