Art from students from Barwon Heads Primary will be on exhibition as part of the Community Open Day at the Barwon Heads Arts & Community Hub on Sunday Aug 28.
The art attached to this article is from Grade 6 student Remy Duval and is an original cartoon self-portrait drawing from the Japanese art form Manga. Student’s art included in the Community Open day features works from Grade Prep to Grade 6. Many grade 6 students from BHPS were the last class to have gone to the Barwon Heads Kindergarten, which used to occupy the new Hub site. How fabulous that the site has been retained and developed for community use and students’ artwork is returning to the walls (though only one original wall remains).
The community is invited to this Free event organised by the Barwon Heads Arts Council together with neighbours the Senior Citz. It includes:
- An art exhibition in the new Gallery space
- Art activities for all ages in the Makers Shed
- The chance to find about Barwon Head’s many arts & community groups
- Barwon Heads Chorale at 1pm
- Lions Club Sausage Sizzle
- Devonshire Tea
- Quilters / Barwon Heads Arts Group
