We were finally able to enjoy the Bellarine Arts Trail again, after a long wait due to Covid. Over the weekend of 29 and 30 October local artists opened their studios and galleries across the four participating towns of Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff.

Over 70 artists were involved this year, and all reported great success. Visitor numbers were fantastic, with some venues welcoming hundreds of visitors over the two days.

This year we were able to offer the Hub and Makers Shed as venues. We had three really interesting artists in the Makers Shed. All three experiencing the arts trail for the first time.  I think it’s fair to say they were blown away with the level of interest in their works.  The Hub itself showcased the work of all participating arts trail artists with an exhibition titled ‘Taste of the Trail’.  This exhibition enabled the over 900 visitors to see what was on offer, grab a map, and plan their arts trail weekend. Yes, you read that correctly: over 900 visitors came through the doors over the two days.  What a great way to announce the Barwon Heads Arts & Community Hub is here and ready to be enjoyed.

We wish to thank all the artists and galleries involved, our team of volunteers and of course all the visitors who make the event such a joy to be part of.

We are very excited to announce we have bee

n successful in securing a grant from City of Greater Geelong Council for the Arts Trail to be held again next year. BAT 2023 will be held over the weekend of 4th and 5th November. A callout to artists will commence early May 2023.
