The Barwon Heads Arts Council has signed a licence with the City of Greater Geelong to manage the newly completed Arts & Community Hub. The BHAC is a volunteer not for profit community organisation and is working to fund, manage and equip the Hub with everything it needs for community use. This is a great, new community asset which includes:
- Two meeting rooms
- A central large open gallery space
- A Makers Shed suitable for artists – workshops, classes…
The Hub all or part is available for hire – 7 days a week from 8am – 6pm. The building’s planning permit restricts use to 33 and does not allow for community hire after 6pm. The Barwon Heads Arts Council is in the process of putting in an application to COGG to vary this permit, which we believes unduly limits community use.
