POSTPONED – Carousel Book Making With Patsy Bush
April 18, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
| $70Carousel books (or star books) are multi-layered constructions that fold flat like a bound book but can open either full length or into a circle to create a set of “scenes.”
During the workshop participants will make a 10 cm high carousel book with 5 segments or scenes made of a back strip, a middle strip, and a front strip.
Materials and Stencils for panels will be provided.
However if participants wish to bring their own images the front and centre panels are approximately 12 X 10cm. Background images can be up to 20cm wide and 10cm high
HOWEVER it is not necessary to come with any ideas at all as participants will be shown how to use simple shapes to create a carousel book!
All materials and equipment will be provided but, if desired, participants could bring their own – • 30cm ruler • knife with snap off blades • Scissors for cutting paper • Glue Stick • Cutting mat • Sharp grey lead pencil plus any drawing or painting equipment to add to the scenes • Cutout images and embellishments to paste on scenes • Protective clothing
The Geelong Sculptors Autumn Exhibition is also open at the Arts Hub, remember to pop in after the workshop!
The Maker Shed is located through the black gate in our backyard.
