SALLY WILSON, soprano

MAJA SAVNIC, violin

MARK KRUGER, piano

Well this is awkward…

Our next Morning Melodies concert on Thursday 5 March includes  well…us. So we are hardly going to blow our own trumpet here. 😄

However, it also introduces international violinst Maja Savnik (now resident in Point Lonsdale), who has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Muti, and Sir Neville Marriner and is a former member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

The program will be a lively mix of Britten’s witty Cabaret Songs (fans of Four Weddings and a Funeral will recognise one of W. H. Auden’s poems), one of Franz Liszt’s daring Transcendental Études and Monti’s rousing Csárdás. The three of us will combine in moving works by Tosti and Saint Saëns and Sally Wilson will finish with Verdi’s dramatic La luce langue from ‘Macbeth’.

We look forward to seeing you there!
